This page will introduce you to our armoury and highlight some of our fabrication skills.
Armamentarium Eugenius is a commission armour fabrication shop and
produces armour on demand for live steel, SCA and LH groups.

The very first helm I ever built. I still have it. Made
of 16 gauge hot rolled steel it was for SCA heavy weapons fighting and I
wore it once. I've gotten much better since! |
Armamentarium Eugenius
I have a bunch of hammers, an anvil, a tree stump and a
blowtorch. With these tools I create period and fantasy armour. I work
in a period style in an outdoor (tented) shop and I take my own sweet
time. My work is neither fast or cheap, so if you need armour by next
weekend your in the wrong place. Armouring is a long, hot and labor
intensive process and I'm getting old.
I work in Stainless, Aluminum and Mild Steel for most pieces. I offer
several finishing options and many different types of riveting patterns as
well as custom engraving and etching. The demi-gauntlets above are flame
blued on the left and "600" finished on the right. Demi-Gauntlets sell for
$45.00 a pair in 600 finish mild steel and I try to keep several pairs in
stock. The Spangenhelm to the left is Nickel plated with alternating
panels that are flame blued. It sold for $350.00
Helmets & Gauntlets I specialize in early period armour.
I do Roman and Byzantine helms the most often. While I can and do many
other pieces, my helmets are in high demand and I keep pretty busy just
making them. To the left are two different styles of finger gauntlets. My
finger gauntlets feature a 3/4 wrap that covers 80% of every finger. Below
left is a Byzantine helm and right is a close up of a brass wolfs head on
a Varangian guardsman's helm.

Hidden armour Most early time periods did not wear arm or leg
armor. I build armour that fits tight and is covered with fabric for these
periods. Simply wear a matching fabric tunic and the armour virtually
disappears! The full elbow and vambrace set pictured below is made from
aluminum elbow cop and lames with leather vambraces and hand punched brass
cuffs.

The full arms below are the same style but with hand tooled and painted
leather vambraces and steel elbow cop and lames. These are "splinted" as
in they have steel strips running inside the vambrace for strength. This
set sold for $175.00

I only build armour to order.

Electronics and Robotics Adding the element of movement and remote control is one of my
favorite things. I believe all art should move in as many ways possible.
Whether for a combat robot or a referee bot with all the bells and
whistles including a CO2 fire extinguisher and a flame thrower I really
love to build robots.
Foam and Fiberglass Using screen, foam and fiberglass I can create almost anything.
This style is very strong and holds color well but has it's own drawbacks.
Depending on the finish required this method can be more expensive and
take longer to complete.
